the wrong kind of love #3

Chapter 3
After some dancing and bit more drinking, Mandy decided it was now time to go home. Brian accompanied her back for the long walk home, as there were no taxis available. They both stopped at a take away and ordered themselves some chips, which they ate on the walk home.“So, how are you liking Dublin then?” asked Brian, munching on a chip. He opened his mouth a bit as he chewed as it was burning his mouth. Mandy giggled at the sight of him.“It’s alright, I suppose. I still have to get used to it though. It is very different to London!” she shrugged.“Yeah, it is!” he laughed, “The good news however, is that the annoying cockney accents have been replaced by pur sexy Irish ones!”Mandy giggled softly as she put a chip in her mouth, “There’s that, yes!”“You were always weak at the sound of our accents!” he chuckled.Mandy smiled, “Well, it is one of the sexiest accents in the world!”“One? What other sexy accents are there then?” he grinned.“Well, there’s the Scottish for starters!” she grinned.Brian laughed, “So, tell me. How many years have you been married then?” he asked, stuffing another chip into his mouth.“4 years next week!” she smiled, “And it seemed like it was only yesterday that I looked into Nicky’s eyes and whispered I do!”“This is probably a stupid question, but any plans on having children?” he asked.Mandy looked at him and smiled, “Bit nosy, aren’t you?”Brian grinned, “Nah, just curious!” he threw his chips paper in the bin as he passed by it.Mandy smiled and shook her head, “Well, we have discussed it but never came to a consensus. We were always too busy at work and he was far too busy up his bosses arse just so he could get promoted to even think about it properly, but yeah, I would like some! At least 3 of them. Now would be a perfect time, seeing as I am not working and I have all this free time and I can afford not to work. but as you may be aware, he needs to be around to get me pregnant. I am very lucky if I see him for an hour a day. I don’t think being at home alone is gonna do the job, really!”Brian grinned and nodded.“How about you?” she asked.“What about me?” he shrugged.“Well, any plans on finding someone and settling down?” she smiled, finished off her last chip and screwing the paper into a ball.Brian shrugged and stuffed his hands into his pockets, “When I find the perfect woman, then yeah!”Mandy giggled, “There is no such thing as the perfect woman. Just as there is no such thing as he perfect man!”Brian smirked, “I think you’ll find you’re wrong! There is a perfect woman and I am gonna find her!”Mandy laughed loudly, “Now there’s a challenge! Good luck with that by the way!”“OH thanks, but I am not gonna need it. I am gonna find her and she shall be mine. Mark my words!” he grinned.“No chance!” she laughed.“Ok, I’ll make a deal with you. When I find her, then you have to come out with me again!” he grinned.“And if you don’t?” she asked.“If I don’t, well then, I dunno.” He laughed.Mandy giggled, “if you don’t, then you have to make the big boss in your company convince Nicky to give him lots of time off.”“Hmm sounds fair!” smiled Brian shaking her hand, “You have got yourself a deal!”“Excellent, so long as you know you’re gonna lose. Just prepare that speech for your boss eh?” she grinned.“Yeah, we’ll see about that, shall we?” he laughed with a wink. Mandy laughed and threw her paper ball in the bin.“Well, it looks like my dear husband is still not back from work!” she sighed, noticing his car was still not there.Brian checked the time on his wrist watch, “But it is half past 1!”Mandy nodded, “Told ya, he comes back at unearthly hours in the morning!”Brian nodded and walked her to her door. Mandy stopped and looked at him.“It was great to see you again, Bri! Thanks for the pep talk and for walking me home!” she smiled, kissing his cheek.“Pleasure. To be honest, I really thought you were gonna tell me to fuck off when I started talking to you!” he laughed.“Awwwwww I didn’t look that evil. Did I?” she chortled.Brian laughed, “not at all. But I didn’t exactly treat you with much respect that week we dated! Thought you would still hold a grudge!”“Brian, that was 10 years ago!” screeched Mandy with laughter.“Yeah, but still!” he shrugged.Mandy shook her head, “Life is too short to bear those kind of grudges. Besides, we were just kids.”Brian smiled and nodded.“I have had a great night, Brian. Beats staying at home alone!” she smiled.Brian grinned, “Yeah well. If you need another good night, give me a call. Here’s my number!”Mandy wasn’t quite sure how to take that and looked at him unsurely. He laughed and shook his head, “OK, you look scared!”Mandy was about to say something but he continued talking.“I meant as friends, Mandy. Don’t look so scared!” he laughed, “I do know you are married!”Mandy smiled.“Well you said you had no mates, well now you have one, right? Well if you don’t mind his warped sense of humour that is!” he winked.Mandy smiled as she took his number, “Thanks Bri!”He kissed her cheek and then left. Mandy looked at the number, smiled and walked back indoors, going straight to bed. Only this time with a smile on her face
