the wrong kind of love #17

Chapter 17
Mandy and Brian lay side by side on his bed, trying to catch their breaths back.“Oh my god!” she panted.Brian turned his head and looked at her, “Are you ok?”Suddenly the realisation of what she had done hit her like a ton of bricks. She sat up covering herself with the duvet and stared into space. Brian sat up and looked at her, “Mandy?”“I cannot believe I have done this!” she whispered, still staring into space.“Mandz, don’t do this to yourself!” he sighed.“There I am, accusing Nicky of having an affair and I have just slept with you. What kind of person am I?” she gasped.Brian grabbed her hand and looked at her, “You’re a lovely person who does not deserve to be treated the way you are being treated!” he assured.Mandy slowly turned her head to look at him, “I am hypocrite!” she whispered.“Mandy, no…” he protested.Mandy didn’t listen. She quickly got up and grabbed her underwear, putting it back on.“Mandy, what are you doing?” he gasped. He could not stop staring at her with her underwear on. He knew it was probably wrong in this situation but he couldn’t help himself. She paced around the room, gathering he scattered clothes.“I have to go home. I cannot stay here!” she panicked, “I need to talk to Nicky.”“Mandz, honey, stop and look at me for a sec!” sighed Brian.Mandy still didn’t listen. She rapidly put her clothes back on and looked frantically for her shoes.“Where are my shoes?” she shrieked, looking around the room and moving things in an attempt to find them.Brian remained on the bed, watching her flapping.“Calm down babe and come here!” “No. I need to find my shoes. I have to find them. I have to go home and sort my life out. I have to save my marriage before it’s too late!” she panicked.Brian saw her shoes and grabbed them, “Are these it?” he asked, holding up the black ankle boots.Mandy looked at them and went to get them when Brian pulled them away.“Give them to me!” she moaned.“Not until you sit down and calm down!” he smiled.“Brian, this is no time for your games. Just give them to me will you?” she shouted.Brian shook his head, “Just sit down!”“Give me my fucking shoes, Brian!” she growled.“and I said not until you sit down and calm down!” he insisted.Mandy went for him to grab them, but Brian grabbed her hand and made her sit on the bed. Mandy tried to get up, but he just pushed her down again. She finally gave up and bowed her head down.“Ok. Now just take a few deep breaths and relax!” he soothed. She just started crying and looked away, “This was a mistake!”Brian swallowed hard. He knew it was a mistake, but somehow, hearing her say it like that really hurt. To him it just felt natural. It felt right. He wanted to tell her that, but he knew it was pointless.“Maybe it was a mistake, but I guess you needed that!” he explained calmly.Mandy shook her head, “What I need is my husband. I need my husband to love me, like he used to live me. I need that attention from him again!” she cried.Again, this hurt Brian, but he was not prepared to let it show. He bit his tongue and stared at her.“God Brian. What am I going to say to him?” she sobbed.Brian put his arm around her and hugged her gently, “You are going to say nothing to him. You are going to go home and get on with your life, and pretend all this never happened!” he sighed. It took all his strength for him to say that. He closed his eyes and bit his lip.“How?” she squeaked.“By focusing on what you want!” he sighed, rubbing his forehead.“I don’t think it would be a good idea to see you again Brian!” she whispered.Brian just stared at her, shell shocked, “What?”“I just don’t think we should. I mean, look what has just happened. I cannot let it happen again. I think it’s for the best if we keep away from each other from now on!” she mumbled.“Don’t say that!” he whispered.“Well, it’s true…What we’ve just done….Well…it’s wrong!” she cried.“Yeah, but we are friends. We can stay as friends!” he argued.“Brian, we have just slept together. That shouldn’t happen to friends. We have crossed that line and we cannot go back now. Our friendship will never be the same!” she cried.“Come on, Mandy. You wanted this as much as I did!” he sighed, “and you know it!”Mandy shook her head, “NO!”“Yes you did. You came to me, knowing full well this is what you wanted!” he argued.“No I didn’t!” she sobbed.“Yes you did!” he shouted, “Why else would you come here?”“Coz I needed to talk to you!” she wailed, getting up and pacing around the room. She could not look at him.“You could have used the phone for that. yet you went through all the trouble of walking all the way down here. And it is not the first time it has happened is it? Fair enough, the first time was just a kiss and we were both too drunk to even care, but you are not drunk now, are you, Mandy? You knew full well what you were doing. We both did.” He yelled.“Yeah, you knew what you were doing and you still took advantage of the fact that I was feeling vulnerable!” she screamed at him.“I have not taken advantage of you in any way. I asked you if you were sure you wanted this and you told me to make love to you. So don’t you go blaming me for this. I thought this was what you wanted!” he yelled.Mandy sighed and looked at him. Both of them were panting after their slanging match.“Look Brian. I am not saying it is your fault ok? If anything it was mine for not stopping this. But I have a marriage to save. I have to fight for it to work out. I cannot just give up on it!” she sighed, calming down slightly.“I am not asking you to!” he sighed, “Though it looks to me like he has given up on you already!”“Brian, please!” she whined. She got her shoes from him and sat to put them on.“Well, it’s true. He is having it off with someone else and you are just willing to forgive him, yet you don’t wanna see me again!” he moaned.“You don’t know he is sleeping around with someone else!” she said, raising her voice slightly.Brian stared at her, “He does not love you the way you deserve to be loved, Mandy. He does not give two shits about you!”“Don’t do this!” she whispered, shaking her head.“he does not treat you with the respect you deserve. He does not care for you…Not like I do!” he sighed at the end.Mandy looked at him and grabbed her bag, ready to walk out, “I don’t need to hear this!”“Truth hurts, does it?” he growled.Mandy ignored him and opened the door, “Goodbye Brian!” she slammed the door and walked down the stairs. Brian ran to the door after her, wrapping a towel around his waist and looked over the railings.“He will only hurt you again, Mandy!” he shouted. Mandy continued to ignore him and left the house. Kian came out of the living room, looking stunned and then looked up at Brian.“What’s going on?” he gasped.Brian ignored him, shook his head and ran to his room, where he looked out the window and opened it. He saw Mandy walking at an incredibly fast pace. He leaned his head out.“And don’t you come running back to me when he gives you the boot, Mandy. Coz I won’t be here to pick up the pieces this time!” He shouted again. Some neighbours gave him some really strange looks. He rolled his eyes, closed the window and sat back on his bed. He got his shoe and threw it at the door in pure frustration
